Blog writing, like any other business, requires a lot of perseverance to take you up the ladder. It is definitely an art but also one that needs tactics to keep your audience tuned in to your posts. Research finds that thousands of blogs are started every day of which 95% gets abandoned within four months. Blog writing may seem to be a rosy job to generate income but soon it’s our mindset that decides whether we stay in or out of the business.
Bloggers quite often fall prey to a number of false fears that hold them back from creating a niche for themselves. Here are some of the irrational fears that prevent bloggers from being successful.
- Too much of work?
Hard work and hard work alone can make you a make successful blogger. People initially consider blogging to be simple but once they start working they may get overwhelmed and thus quit. Successful bloggers have a regular schedule that helps them devote time extensively to find ways to develop their blogs. Develop contact with other bloggers to develop like-minded ideas and also to stay in focus. It is a lot of work upfront but is a rewarding one in the long run.
- What if I lose?
Readers would not instantly connect to your blog the day you lauch your blog. There are hundreds and thousands of people who embark on a same note every day. So you are not the one alone in the business. But at the end of the day, every blogger has gone through the same in creating a niche for oneself in the market. So do not be intimidated with the idea of competition. Instead keep focusing on what and how to communicate and keep learning along the process. Every influential blogger has spent years in developing their audience and so would you.
- Will my content sell?
Often bloggers fall victim to the fear of selling their content. The concept of charging money can seem an alien one to them. Bloggers need to spend time on learning about selling and developing the skill. Advertisements can churn out money provided you have a ton of traffic. Selling products and services might be more work, but it’s an effective way to monetize your blog even if you have a smaller audience.
- Will I be too successful?
The fear of becoming too successful in life can also sometimes deter people from working for themselves. Some bloggers also become apprehensive on satisfying the reader’s interest on a long run. They also fear that success might change who they actually are.
Change is evitable to any job. Change takes us closer to our desired dreams. Accept that one’s core values will never change in spite of the peaks of success they conquer.
- Will I fail?
Most of the bloggers fear failure even in their prime days of blogging. As the old saying goes, failures are your stepping stones to success. It is only temporary and every successful blogger has been in their beds of thorns. Accept situations as they come. Think of failure only as a learning experience that take you closer to success.
